This means viewers should primarily watch Prime Video for the official digital premiere rather than relying on rumours about other streaming services.

Awarapan 2 OTT Release in Pakistan
The movie has attracted considerable interest among Pakistani viewers, particularly because Emraan Hashmi has a large audience in the country.

Awarapan 2 Release Date and Theatrical Run
Awarapan 2 was released in cinemas on August 14, 2026.
The release brought Emraan Hashmi back to one of his most recognisable characters almost two decades after the original.
The sequel opened alongside Batwara 1947 during the Independence Day weekend, giving Indian audiences two major Hindi releases to choose from.
The movie's theatrical performance will also be an important factor in determining how long it remains in cinemas before its digital debut.
What Is Awarapan 2 About?
The sequel brings back Shivam Pandit, portrayed by Emraan Hashmi.
The story takes place 19 years after the events associated with the original film, with Shivam once again facing a dangerous situation that forces him back into the criminal underworld.
The film's central story revolves around a rescue mission involving his adopted daughter Aaliyah. Shivam's search reportedly leads him into the world of criminals and drug trafficking as he attempts to save her and others in danger.
The sequel combines action, romance, drama and thriller elements while continuing the emotional journey of its central character.
Rather than simply repeating the story of the first movie, the sequel places Shivam in a new conflict while maintaining the darker atmosphere associated with the franchise.
Awarapan 2 Cast
The movie features a combination of returning franchise elements and new characters.
Main cast
- Emraan Hashmi as Shivam Pandit
- Disha Patani
- Shabana Azmi
- Suvinder Vicky
- Vijayant Kohli
- Atul Kumar
- Shriya Saran
Emraan Hashmi returns in the central role, while Disha Patani is among the principal new faces in the sequel.
The movie is directed by Nitin Kakkar. Current movie listings classify it across action, adventure, drama and romance categories.
Who Directed Awarapan 2?
Awarapan 2 was directed by Nitin Kakkar.
The sequel therefore has a different director from the original Awarapan, which was directed by Mohit Suri.
The change gives the new film its own creative identity while bringing back the character that made the first movie memorable.
Awarapan 2 vs Awarapan 2007
The original Awarapan was released in 2007 and starred Emraan Hashmi and Shriya Saran.
Although the first film did not become a major theatrical blockbuster, it developed a strong following over the years. Its emotional story, music and Hashmi's performance helped it achieve cult status.
That long-lasting fan interest is one of the biggest reasons the sequel has generated attention nearly two decades later.
For people who have not watched the first film, watching Awarapan before the sequel can provide useful context about Shivam and his emotional journey.
Where Can You Watch the Original Awarapan?
The availability of the 2007 movie varies according to country and current licensing agreements.
Amazon Prime Video has listings for the original film in some markets, although viewers should check the catalog available in their particular region.
This is especially relevant for Pakistani viewers because international streaming catalogs are not always identical.
Why Are Fans Waiting for the OTT Release?
A significant portion of the audience prefers watching movies at home rather than going to cinemas.
An online release is also particularly useful for viewers who live in locations where the theatrical release may not be widely available.
For fans of the original, the streaming debut will provide an opportunity to revisit the franchise or finally see the sequel if they were unable to watch it in theatres.
The popularity of the first film has also contributed to interest in seeing Emraan Hashmi return as Shivam after such a long gap.
Expected Digital Release Window
Although there is no official date, current reporting provides a possible timeframe.
GQ India estimates that the movie could move to Prime Video between September 25 and October 9, 2026, assuming a six-to-eight-week gap after the theatrical release.
However, streaming agreements can vary.
The final date could therefore be earlier or later than this estimated window.
